On the focusing screen, you see everything upside down and for a long time you try to get the photographed object to some plane. When using medium-format film 135, when shooting with perforations, you also get rid of the possibility to rotate the image to the plane when developing photos. Pull process …

Another popular process I use for analog black and white photography is the “Pull process“. Just set the sensitivity of the exposure meter to lower than the actual film sensitivity. The exposure then runs a little longer. I will leave the negative in the developer only half the time. Even the cheapest negative creates a very fine grain and a whole range of halftones.
