Elephatn’s Trunk Nebula with MY Cephei (red supergiant)
The midnight photo shoot of the IC 1396 nebula was complicated by a very strong wind. My SAM assembly is just too light. But it still didn’t convince me to buy an astronomical telescope. It’s too heavy a device with which I couldn’t wander the hills at night … I returned home in the morning pretty frozen. Rum and tea saved it 🙂
Consstellation of Cefeus with Elephant’s Trunk Nebula
150 x 30 sec. shots with ISO 2000 135mm f/2 and SAM. Top right Soul nebula, below is Heart nebula, bellow Fish head nebula. On the left is the double star cluster Persei x and Persei h.
One of 150 shots…. it took me a few months to learn to focus the lens where I needed it. Because without a telescope with proper equipment, nothing can be seen at all 🙂
We can observe similar views from other spiral galaxies looking at our Milky Way. One of the small dots would be our Sun. Before the moon gliked over the horizon tonight . 41 x 30 sec. stacked in program Siril. It was beautiful tonight….
